When a response comes back in the BRE, the folks in the office of admissions have to frantically input data before sending more relevant material and hopefully nudging the prospect closer to choosing their college. Each presenter was given 5 minutes to briefly explain in what ways their company uses technology in the industry today. Afterwards, a Q&amp;A was held for the 10 presenters. There were numerous questions asked and Debra requested that all attendees spread the word and create a &quot;buzz&quot; among the community about what was learned at the Tech Brief.

            	Our company president, Louis Crockett, was the third featured presenter. He talked about the new operating division of Keiger Printing Company, &lt;a title="Keiger Direct Website" href="http://www.keigerdirect.com" target="_blank"&gt;Keiger Direct&lt;/a&gt;, and announced Keiger Direct's new product line, LYNX.             	After the event, we were able to visually highlight some of our capabilities by spotlighting samples from several of our campaigns, including the Snackinar (shown in the presentation) and Salem's Shines 2009 campaign, which we are still in the process of running.             	On January 30, 2009, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) granted a one-year stay of testing and certification requirements for children's products (including books and other printed material) that are subject to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA). This action, prompted in party by the Printing Industries of America and other allied industry partners, is a welcome step forward in relieving the industry of regulatory burdens associated with the CPSIA, but there are still a number of steps that need to be taken before Printing Industries wins its goal of an outright exemption for children's books and other printed material books.

            	The economy can't be too bad, companies and organizations are still paying 42 cents instead of complying with the USPS move update requirements and claiming the reduced mailing rates. If you're a non-profit that could be a 32 cent difference per piece.

            	In recent months we harkened to the fact that changes were coming. Guess what? They're here. Non-Profits and hopeful for-profit organizations alike are now dealing with the cringing reality that they may be paying full price for mailing in order to get expeditious service on their mailings.
