Keiger Printing Company Finishes Third in Forsyth Tech Foundation Golf Classic
September 7, 2004Predictions of rain and fog did not stop supporters of Forsyth Technical Community College from coming together for a day of golf at the Forsyth Tech Foundation Golf Classic at Bermuda Run. The tournament raised a record-breaking $29,000 for the Forsyth Tech Foundation to support students, faculty, and the college through scholarships, training grants, and new technology. Keiger Printing Company was a bronze sponsor of the event, donating $750. Keiger fielded the 5-man team of Chris Bates, Louis Crockett, Scott Crockett, Mike Silver, and Guy Wilkerson which placed third in the tournament.
The Forsyth Tech Foundation is a private, non-profit foundation that operates exclusively for the educational development of Forsyth Technical Community College. In an urban, technology-oriented environment, North Carolina state funding to Forsyth Technical Community College is not sufficient to keep it at a competitive level that the business and industry community expects and deserves. This is particularly true in the three major areas of student scholarships, technology/equipment, and staff development.
The support of the private sector is critical for achieving the level of excellence in teaching and service that our community expects of its community college. Through the auspices of the Forsyth Tech Foundation, efforts are underway to enlist this broad base of community participation.
