Google Takes on the World of Operating Systems
July 9, 2009
For months there have been rumors that Google was working on an operating system comparable to Microsoft Windows and the Apple Mac OS. Now Google has confirmed these rumors and announced that its new operating system will be based on its Chrome web browser. The new operating system will initially target the relatively new netbook market of laptops that are much cheaper than regular laptops due to their lack of processing power. This lack of processing power has been an issue for Microsoft Windows due to its rather heavy processing needs.
